Getting the most from a fact sheet

Which files extract well, and how to check what was found.

Accepted files

  • PDF (text-based PDFs read best; scans work but are less reliable)
  • Word (.docx)
  • Excel (.xlsx) and CSV
  • Images: photos or screenshots of a fact sheet, including iPhone HEIC photos
  • Pasted text

Old brochures, rent rolls and listing summaries all work as fact sheets. For a phone photo, shoot the page flat and in good light, and photograph each page if the sheet has more than one.

Tips

  • Use the most recent version of the document; extraction can’t tell which figure is current.
  • Clear tables with one value per cell extract more reliably than designed layouts.
  • Upload a rent roll as Excel or CSV rather than a PDF where you can.

What “verify” means

Every extracted fact is marked “from your fact sheet — verify” and shows its page and quote. A number that isn’t in its quote is discarded rather than guessed. Check each fact against the source before you publish.

Tables in the builder

Every table in the OM builder has Import CSV / Excel. You can also paste straight from a spreadsheet: header rows are matched by name (for example “Sq Ft” to Area SF) and a preview shows any cell that isn’t understood, such as a date in an unexpected format.
